Managing Tremor

 Better Tremor Management
     through Better Tremor Measurement

Why Should I Measure Tremor in My Patients?

A fair question.

Tremor statistics for frequency, amplitude and spread percent provide a better understanding of tremor than subjective “mild”, “moderate” or “severe” ratings.

You and your patients can see how tremor is actually changing over time or treatment through graphic views of the tremor statistics.

The value of measuring tremor is recognized by the AMA.

CPT Code 0199T for measuring, interpreting and reporting tremor using accelerometers is effective January 1, 2010.

An affordable office system is available to quickly measure tremor in four tremor conditions and generate written reports.

A Demonstration CD is available that lets you explore tremor measurement using prerecorded readings on your own PC.

Measuring Tremor in Your Office

The Tremorometer® System, initially developed for tremor research, has been enhanced for testing patients in the office or clinic.  The TremorScope® sensor provides precision acceleration measurements that are read, processed and displayed by the TremorLab® program on any PC -- shown below running on a compact Netbook PC.

Testing is very easy and efficient.  The sensor is taped to

Netbook1

the index finger and four fifteen second tests are run that measure action, resting, loaded and intention tremor.

Readings are automatically processed and tremor statistics for frequency, amplitude and percent time tremor is present are displayed.

Tremor measurement is now practical in the office.  Does it make sense for your situation?  Explore the web site for more information.

Slide Shows are available for detailed information:
TremTest is an introduction to managing tremor
TremReport describes the report module
Advanced Analysis explores ways to view tremor
Photo Gallery has pictures of the system

TremorLab is designed to work on any PC running Windows XP or Windows Vista.

TremReport requires Microsoft Word to generate the reports.
